About our support to Missions ...

Acts 1:8 But you shall receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you; and you shall be witnesses to Me in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the end of the earth.”

In the preceding scripture, Jesus states that our influence with the gospel (our mission) is meant to begin in our local community where we are established. At New Beginnings we’ve begun right here in our Jerusalem, Calgary. From there, we move out and beyond, where we eventually have an effect worldwide. At New Beginnings, we are continually seeking to grow in this manner and our influence is beginning to touch other parts of Canada as well as other nations.

In 2001, we connected closely and now serve on the board with a ministry called Resurrection Power Church International (RPCI) whose network of churches includes Hong Kong, mainland China, Sri Lanka, and now more recently Toronto. Recently we purchased a van for Resurrection Power Church International, Toronto so less mobile members of the congregation could be shuttled to church. Not only have we invested money, time and much prayer, but we have we traveled to various of RPCI’s locations to minister in person.

In October of 2006, we began a new phase at New Beginnings, We sent our beloved friends Bruce and Laurel Stanton, to Nanaimo B.C. to plant New Beginnings Family Church, Nanaimo. Bruce and Laurel are just getting started but our confidence in them and God is high and so is our excitement level.

Our Zap! Youth ministry Team travel around the city and the province reaching children and youth through music, drama and the word. Recently Zap! traveled to High Prairie, Alberta to assist  the local church in reaching the children of High Prairie for Christ. The Zap! team of young people then went to the Siksikka Reservation where many children, youth and parents were impacted by their performance and passion for Christ.

Financially New Beginnings has and continues to support many mission outreaches around the world. Since 1987, we have contributed monthly to Gentle Hands ministry based in the Philippines which provides a birthing clinic for young mothers to be who cannot afford proper medical care. In addition Gentle Hands provides free of charge pre-natal care, classes and teaching, as well as food. Many have been born again through this ministry.

In 2005, New Beginnings raised $6,000.00 for the Indian Evangelical Team orphanage in India, many of whose children are orphans of parents who have been martyred while sharing the gospel of Jesus Christ in India.

While this is not an exhaustive list of the entire mission efforts of this church historically. We believe it gives some idea of the heart behind our call that includes the nations and we will be faithful in fulfilling it.
